Holiday time and for us that usually means spending most of our day entertaining the brood.
This time day one started somewhat differently – my SIL has it sussed – we went to the spa and had some treatments.
As I’d bought a gym pass for the week I opted for a deep tissue back massage! My trapezius area has been niggling on and off following poor posture due to more breastfeeding and holding the littlest one a lot. The massage was a welcome treat and just what I needed to start the week of workouts and family activities.
Deep tissue is usually the massage of choice if you want to target musculoskeletal issues i.e strains and sports injuries. The therapist will apply consistent pressure using deep and slow strokes to get to those inner layers of connective tissue and muscle.
I had a much better sleep last night and was up and ready for a quick gym session this morning before the day began.
So many benefits – physically and mentally! Massage is great, there are so many different techniques whatever is needing addressed…….treat yourself when you can!!
